A virtual world has so much potential. In it you can create anything you can imagine without being bound by everyday annoyances like gravity or physics.

This workshop is for those who want to see the kind of things you can build in a virtual world and begin to craft objects for themselves. The aim of the workshop is to build your own little castle for your computerised kingdom, a virtual home for your avatar. We will cover object creation, combining objects to make complex builds, texturing your object and briefly introduce coding to animate your object. The workshop will walk you through the tools we'll be using then let you free in the virtual sandbox to create whatever comes to mind. If you decide you want to carry on creating when you get home bring along a USB stick and we can give you a copy of your creation to take home with you.

The session will be run by Penny Cunningham. Penny has worked for IOU for 5 years and in that time has created virtual versions of several IOU shows and the worlds to house them. She learnt how to build and code through playing in virtual worlds just like the one we will be using in the workshop.
