Airborne Online is a music composition project that allows you to create music using the sounds of natural forces – air escaping, mud boiling, sparks of electricity to name a few! Follow the link at the bottom of this page to listen to IOU’s composition and to soundscapes created by others using the same sounds. Create your own soundscape and then upload it into the Airborne Online library for others to hear!

IOU captured sounds produced in the natural world through basic scientific experiments and then manipulated them into a musical soundscape. The sounds were captured live in front of an audience at Junction Goole in September 2010.

Visitors to the theatre were able to see how the music is made and explore the whole process with a close-up view of IOU artists and technicians creating the sounds.
