The Storytelling Bus first toured in IOU's home town of Halifax from May to July 2019. It featured the one of a kind bus auditorium that was originally used as part of Rear View performances in previous years. The Storytelling Bus uses the streets of the town as its theatre, while audiences listen to the stories, memories and reflections from a multitude of different people and voices, created into specially commissioned soundscapes by composer Katie English.

You can hear each of the musical story compositions here, or follow the links on the right hand side.

Further information

The Storytelling Bus launched in Halifax on Saturday 25th May 2019. It had tours every weekend from this date until 14th July 2019. It featured stories, reflections and experiences of Halifax - from the everyday to the momentous.  Over forty people submitted their stories, from ages 8 to 80, through workshops and a competition with the Halifax Courier.

A further version of The Storytelling Bus was created in partnership with Junction Arts in Goole for it's 10th birthday celebrations.
