This workshop will take participants on a journey through the world of poetry reinterpreted using modern video techniques.
During the workshop participants will produce a poetry film based on poems by Polish poets Grzegorz Wróblewski - one of Poland’s leading contemporary writers and Krzysztof Śliwka – contemporary Polish poet.
Courtesy of Fanfare, a Polish improvised music record label, participants will have access to a wide range of experimental music as background for their video poems.
Feel free to bring with you your own interpretations of the poems and your own video samples if you wish. You don’t have to like poetry to take a part, just let your imagination run wild and take part in the new video poetry experience!
The session will be run by Maciej Piątek, a Polish Video Artist based in the UK . Maciej started his adventure with movie making at Off Plus Camera 2009, Cracow, Poland, where he reached the final 10 with his mobile movie “Dictator”. In 2013 Maciej Piatek received 3rd prize for Best Editing for Poetic Effect for a video poem “Words” at Bristol Liberated Words Poetry Film Festival hosted by Arnolfini, Bristol. He has recently received significant recognition of his work with the international video poetry network. He is currently working on various video projects including his new video poems and a project of visualizations for various artists.
