A practical workshop on how to create your own interactive films and use live streaming technology on Apple Mac.
Interactive film is now in the mainstream; Netflix recently experimented with it in popular shows like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Black Mirror. This exciting new genre in filmmaking enables audiences to control the film’s narrative. In this workshop Artist, Academic and Director Dr Richard Ramchurn will share the workings of his interactive films. The workshop will consist of an introduction to tools which can be used to create interactive film and a practical session on software you can use to broadcast live artistic events from your home.
Richard Ramchurn is an artist who works across mediums of theatre, film and digital technologies. He has created work nationally for BBC, TATE Modern, The Lowry, CONTACT, RNCM, The Royal Exchange, The Roundhouse and internationally at Grand Theatre Groningen, BRIC Brooklyn, New York.
Richard’s current work, “The MOMENT” centres around affective filmic brain computer interface technology. Richard has just completed a PhD in Neurocinematics and regularly talks at academic conferences on interactive cinema. He is currently performing a series of online live scores of the film with musicians in the UK and Iceland.
