My Three Words is a new project by IOU, commissioned by Junction, to celebrate its home town of Goole; an inland port 40 miles from the sea in the East Riding of Yorkshire, UK. Over Spring, Summer, and Autumn 2021, My Three Words interweaves digital artworks and physical locations using the what3words platform.
Launched in April 2021, these online galleries exhibit work created by groups, schools, and individuals, which, through the use of What3Words, have links to a specific three-metre square area in Goole. If you have lived in Goole all your life, visited or are just inspired by the town, we invite you to be creative and share your artwork for exhibition in the My Three Words Gallery.
You can share poetry, prose, musical work, photography, video, and drawings, or anything that can be digitised and uploaded to the online gallery. The only criteria are that the work submitted is inspired by a physical location in Goole and that it has a unique What3Words co-ordinate. All art works must have be situated within 2 km of Junction, Goole.
See the Submissions Page for further information and guidelines. In Summer, Junction and IOU will select a handful of artworks from the online gallery to deliver a programme of events, walks, and installations. This will be followed in Autumn with an exhibition at Junction, Goole (providing COVID restrictions allow).
